The residents of Khmelnytskyi have decided whether they need additional pay attractions in the T. Shevchenko Park.
Starting 12th of March all residents of Khmelnytskyi could join a public consultation and express their opinion on the need for additional attractions in the Taras Shevchenko Park. The public consultation started on the initiative of representatives of the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Khmelnytskyi City Council. After the renovation of the playground, last year, modern attractions and slides, inclusive swings, altimeters and rope complexes have appeared here. The number of visitors to the park has increased, so the local government has decided to ask residents whether there is a need for additional paid entertainment for children?
The residents of Khmelnytskyi answering the question: “To be or not to be an additional paid attraction in the T. Shevchenko Park?” could choose only one answer: 1). Yes or 2). No.
The public consultation lasted until 1st of April inclusive. During this time 1477 local residents joined the discussion. Everyone was able to express their opinion by sending a text message or using the system “Your opinion”.
As results, the thoughts of the participants were distributed as follows:
1.) Yes – 1023 (69.3%) participants in the discussion;
2.) No – 454 (30.7%) participants in the discussion.
Public consultation is a process of communication between local governments and citizens (all stakeholders) through which both parties become aware of different perspectives and proposals. It is a tool that enables citizens to influence the content of decisions made by local governments.
